The Office Might Be Coming Back To Make 2018 Bearable

It appears a few Dunder Mifflin employees missed the memo about “The Office” potentially returning to TV.

Reports are circulating that NBC is making a serious effort to revive the kooky workplace comedy ― without Steve Carell. So the network is searching for a character like his Michael Scott, the regional boss at the paper company Dunder Mifflin.

Executive produced by Greg Daniels, the original NBC series “The Office,” based on the British show of the same name, ran from 2005 to 2013. It starred Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Craig Robinson, Mindy Kaling, and B.J. Novak among others. It received a total of 42 Emmy nominations during its run, winning five.

Angela Kinsey, who played Angela Martin on the hit series for nine seasons, expressed her sincere confusion on Twitter. She urged network executives to get in touch with her and co-star Creed Bratton, who played a fictional version of himself on “The Office,” to sort things out.

Although Kinsey, 46, doesn’t appear to have had any knowledge of an upcoming reboot, she’s expressed interest in appearing if it ever did happen. “I would love it, but I have no idea. Everybody is doing so many things, but sign me up!” she said.

NBC has reason to be in the revival business after successfully relaunching “Will & Grace” this fall. The new season of that show was one of the network’s highest-rated shows of the season thus far and was renewed for another season before the first had even aired.
