America has a jail problem. For those who aren't familiar with it, we have more people incarcerated than both the UK and China. Combined. To make matters worse, most of our prisons are filled with non-violent drug offenders. As a result of these policies, it's created a need to build new prisons constantly to accommodate the constant steam of inmates. Its lucrative to some, but it costs the tax payers money and has made prisons overcrowded and less safe. The lack of safety was underscored by footage that has emerged of a 'prison riot.' CCTV video of a canteen in the maximum security wing of Cook Country Jail, Chicago, shows a brawl ensue between several of the inmates. Viewers looked on in horror as people knocked out their fellow prisoners with single-punches. We also saw people get stabbed with shanks. It's hard to determine what or who is responsible for the fight, not that that really matters anyway.
